We also acknowledge that Toronto is covered by Treaty 13 with the Mississaugas of the Credit.

For more than 100 years, Women’s College Hospital (WCH) has been developing revolutionary advances in healthcare and continues to build on this rich legacy established by its founders – courageous pioneers who refused to accept the status quo. Today WCH is still shaped by leaders who break down barriers in the pursuit of equity and excellence for the 21st century.

WCH is a world leader in health for women, health equity and health system solutions – a hospital designed to keep people out of hospital. WCH is developing ground-breaking innovations that address issues related to population health, patient experience and system costs. WCH advocates for health equity because it knows that a healthy society requires a level playing field where everyone has access to timely, high quality, efficient and compassionate care.

As WCH advances Healthcare Revolutionized 2030, its people and culture are central to realizing its bold vision for the future of healthcare. It is within this context that WCH is seeking its next Vice President, People and Culture & CHRO (VP & CHRO).

Reporting to the President and CEO, the VP & CHRO provides business insight and strategic leadership for the Hospital’s people practices. As a trusted member of the Executive team, the VP & CHRO influences strategic decision-making, champions WCH's mission, vision and values, and helps shape the organizational conditions that enable people and teams to thrive. The portfolio encompasses Human Resources, Payroll, Occupational Health, Safety & Wellness, Infection Prevention and Control, People Equity, Diversity & Inclusivity, Volunteer Resources, Organizational and Talent Development, and Legal Services.

At the heart of this mandate is a commitment to supporting and enhancing the impact and well-being of WCH's most important asset, its people. The VP & CHRO defines and oversees the implementation of WCH’s People Strategy and aligns people team activities with organizational priorities. The VP & CHRO serves as a trusted advisor on human resources and people management matters and fosters an environment where employees can contribute, develop, and thrive.

Externally, the VP & CHRO builds relationships across the broader health system, represents the Hospital at key external tables, and works with system partners, government and peer organizations to advance WCH’s strategic priorities and its vision of healthcare revolutionized for a healthier and more equitable world.

As an ideal candidate, you are an accomplished executive with significant experience leading complex people and culture portfolios in a large, multifaceted organization. Others describe your leadership approach as collaborative, empowering, and values-driven, and you are known as an authentic leader who builds high-performing teams. You are an intentional steward of organizational culture, skilled at embedding a shared culture while preserving the values and qualities that make it distinctive. You have strong business acumen, sound judgment, outstanding communication skills, and a reputation for integrity. You are also recognized for your superior relationship management skills. You have the ability to work effectively with a broad range of partners both internally and across the broader health system, and represent WCH at local, provincial, and system-level tables.
