The successful candidate will bring progressive senior leadership experience in business development, strategic partnerships, commercialization, and enterprise growth within healthcare, academia, life sciences, or another complex and highly regulated environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate success in building high-value relationships, advancing cross-sector collaborations, leading strategic growth initiatives, and identifying sustainable revenue opportunities. An entrepreneurial and collaborative leader, the Director will possess exceptional negotiation, communication, strategic planning, and financial management skills. Familiarity with healthcare innovation, academic health systems, and applied research collaborations is considered an asset. A graduate degree in business, healthcare administration, public administration, commerce, or a related discipline is required. Reporting to the President and CEO, the successful incumbent is a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, Chair of the Medical Advisory Committee, and a non-voting ex-officio member of the Board and its Executive Committee. The role carries accountability for the medical and dental staff, clinical governance, quality and safety, and oversight of clinical services including diagnostic imaging and library services. It also leads Holland Bloorview’s academic mission through the Teaching and Learning Institute, the relationship with the Temerty Faculty of Medicine, and partnership with the Bloorview Research Institute and TAHSN. As Holland Bloorview expands its physician complement through the Alternate Funding Plan, the role combines internal clinical leadership with a strong external dimension: representing Holland Bloorview across TAHSNm Medical and TAHSNe Education tables, with Ontario’s children’s hospitals and the University of Toronto, and in the advocacy that shapes the wider system.
