As member of emergency response team, stabilizes and resuscitates multi-trauma victims, prepares for and responds to disaster situations. About the Vancouver General Hospital Emergency Department
Our ED sees over 93,000 patients a year and is a Level 1 Trauma Centre with 24/7 access for patients requiring care for trauma, interventional cardiology, stroke, and other specialty areas of care. Your Opportunity:
The Stollery Children’s Hospital is seeking a skilled and collaborative Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join the Non-Invasive Ventilation (NIV) Clinic. This role is ideal for an NP with a strong interest in pediatric respiratory and sleep medicine, complex chronic disease management, and family-centered care. The NIV Clinic supports infants, children, and youth requiring non-invasive respiratory support due to a wide range of neuromuscular, respiratory, craniofacial, and sleep-related conditions.
As the NP, you will play a key role in clinical assessment, longitudinal management, and care coordination across outpatient, and community settings. Reporting to the Stollery Respiratory Therapy Manager and Sleep Medicine Medical Director, the Nurse Practitioner will function as an Ambulatory Most Responsible Nurse Practitioner, while working within an interdisciplinary team that includes physicians, respiratory therapists, nurses, sleep technologists, and allied health professionals.
Key Responsibilities: Provide advanced clinical assessment, diagnosis, and management of pediatric patients requiring non-invasive ventilation. Initiate, adjust, and monitor NIV therapies in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. Interpret sleep studies, NIV downloads, and relevant diagnostic investigations within scope of practice. Prescribe medications, therapies, and equipment in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards. Coordinate care within the NIV clinical team. Coordinate care transitions between hospital, home, community, and school settings. Provide education and support to patients, families, and caregivers regarding NIV therapy and disease management. Description:
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $40.76 to $55.79 per hour. Upon obtaining a full practice permit, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii), as applicable.
Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.

In this position, you will be on your feet for an extended period of time (both walking and standing), and you must be able to assist in transporting, lifting and positioning of patients. You will also be required to bend, lift, push, and pull equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:
At least 1 year of Emergency RN experience. A minimum of 2 years in Med/Surg/Acute Care an asset. Recent tertiary/urban nursing practice and critical care experience within the last 2 years. About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Health Services Manager, Women & Children's, the Registered Nurse (RN) functions as an integral member of the multi-disciplinary team within the Collaborative Practice Model, and assumes responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing, directing, supervising and evaluating direct and indirect patient care and evaluation of patient outcomes. As the coordinator of care within the bedside delivery team, the RN develops the plan of care based on the assessment, with consideration to strengths, risk factors, options, consequences of actions, health promotion, learning, comfort, safety, privacy, dignity and integrity, and ensures the patient care experience is coordinated and integrated within an interdisciplinary care model, both within acute care and across the continuum of care.

About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Health Services Manager, Women & Children's, the Registered Nurse (RN) functions as an integral member of the multi-disciplinary team within the Collaborative Practice Model, and assumes responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing, directing, supervising and evaluating direct and indirect patient care and evaluation of patient outcomes.
