Job Description

Chief of Staff/Vice President, Medical Affairs

Cambridge Memorial Hospital (CMH) is a full service, acute care hospital committed to providing health care to the communities of Cambridge, North Dumfries and the region of Waterloo. CMH traces its roots to 1888, when the region’s first community hospital opened to treat patients. The Hospital’s modern/current mission is to be a progressive acute care hospital and teaching facility committed to quality and integrated patient-centred care. The Hospital employs 1,178 staff, 287 medical staff and midwives and has more than 500 volunteers.

CMH’s $187M Capital Redevelopment Project involved the construction of a new patient care wing. The 240,000-square-foot Wing A was opened January 18, 2020 and houses units such as the Emergency Department, Intensive Care, Birthing, Paediatrics, Medicine, and the Mental Health program. The state-of-the-art operating rooms will be put into service later this spring. The complete refurbishment of the existing Wing B patient care facility is the next phase of the project. The Hospital is one of 32 health care and health services agencies in Cambridge and North Dumfries that applied to become an Ontario Health Team and submitted a full proposal in the fall of 2019 that led to a successful outcome. Additionally, CMH recently completed their Accreditation and were Accredited with Exemplary Standing until 2023.
