The Position
Reporting to the Vice President, Facilities Operations and Capital Development, the Associate Vice President (AVP), Building Services and Public Safety provides visible, strategic, and operational leadership across a complex, multi-site portfolio. This includes facilities operations, plant services, building systems, public safety, and parking services. The AVP ensures that infrastructure and support services are aligned with clinical priorities and consistently enable safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.
The AVP leads a team of Directors and Managers across multiple sites and oversees a network of external service providers within a multi-vendor environment. The role requires a thoughtful and balanced approach combining operational discipline, strong relationship management, and sound judgment to ensure consistent service delivery and performance. As a member of the leadership team, the AVP works closely with clinical leaders, corporate partners, and external stakeholders to support operational readiness, mitigate risk, and contribute to both immediate operational needs and long-term infrastructure planning and redevelopment initiatives.

PCMCH Director of Child and Youth Health
This recruitment is being undertaken on behalf of the Provincial Council for Maternal and Child Health (PCMCH). PCMCH is a provincial organization hosted at SickKids with the mandate to provide evidence-based and strategic leadership for perinatal, neonatal, and paediatric health services in Ontario. Reporting to the Executive Director of PCMCH in this newly created senior leadership role, the Director of Child and Youth Health is responsible for the development and delivery of provincial paediatric programs and initiatives that drive excellence in care, improve health outcomes and reduce inequities.
The Director will actively identify new and innovative opportunities for advancing quality and equity in paediatric care delivered across Ontario, working in partnership with government, provincial agencies, professional associations, child health regional networks, hospitals and other healthcare provider organizations, researchers, and patients and families. The Director will facilitate and implement change and encourage an environment that is open to finding creative solutions to persistent health system challenges. The successful incumbent will be an inspiring leader who will empower and support a team of program managers and program coordinators in the planning and execution of PCMCH's child and youth health initiatives. Specialized Pediatrics—Health Complexity is a provincial program of BC Children’s Hospital that provides outpatient and community-based care for children living with chronic, complex health conditions (birth to 19 years). As a provincial program, Specialized Pediatrics—Health Complexity provides coordination and oversight of program services at BC Children’s Hospital (outpatient) as well as to each of the regional health authorities (community) whereby safe, quality care is facilitated using appropriate health supports for children/youth. A key focus for Specialized Pediatrics, Health Complexity is partnering with families and developing strong collaborative relationships with counterparts in other health authorities, ministries and community service providers including universities and academic institutions to identify opportunities for research collaboration and share information in the drive to optimize care and best practices.
The Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) position offers unique opportunities to engage across a broad provincial team and service providers through teaching, coaching, development of clinical practice resources, and actively participating in creating, implementing, and delivering education and support using a variety of modalities. The CNE role provides best practice and mentoring support to clinical nursing teams, in partnership with each of the regional health authorities, as well as with service providers. The successful candidate will have demonstrated effective communication skills, teaching experience and expertise grounded in adult learning principles underpinned by a collaborative and interdisciplinary approach to care that promotes teamwork and integrated service delivery at the local and provincial level. What you’ll do

An exciting leadership opportunity is available in the Turningpoint Program (Unit 3‑6) at Alberta Hospital Edmonton, an 18‑bed inpatient forensic unit supporting youth under the Youth Criminal Justice Act and those experiencing acute psychiatric disruption. As Assistant Head Nurse, you will provide steady, practical leadership that strengthens a positive, supportive team culture while ensuring high‑quality, patient‑centred care.
Reporting to the Unit Manager, you will guide day‑to‑day clinical operations, coordinate and monitor unit activities, support and mentor nursing and support staff, and contribute to recruitment and workforce planning. You will also maintain direct clinical involvement, overseeing patient care in collaboration with the Unit Psychiatrist and working closely with interdisciplinary partners across health, community, and justice services.

Description:
As an Assistant Head Nurse, you will be responsible for staff assignments, patient flow and acting as a role model, clinical resource and advocate for nursing staff. In addition to providing frontline nursing care, as required, you will take a leadership role in the promotion of quality patient care and the implementation of operational priorities.
Your in-depth knowledge and skills, advanced judgment and clinical experience, will assist in providing solutions for complex health care issues at all levels with patients, interprofessional teams, administrators and policy makers. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of Recovery Alberta.
Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:
A minimum of two years of formal or informal nursing leadership experience. A demonstrated ability to mobilize and sustain effective teamwork and communicate effectively and professionally to advance collaborative practice. A minimum of three years of psychiatric nursing practice within an acute, inpatient setting is also required. Knowledge of adolescent development, DSM V, the Youth Criminal Justice Act, and best practices in psychiatric nursing are required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to candidates with nursing leadership and clinical experience in youth corrections and/or forensic treatment environments.

About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager, Emergency Department or designate, the Registered Nurse (RN) functions as an integral member of the multi-disciplinary team within the Collaborative Practice Model, and assumes responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing, directing, supervising and evaluating direct and indirect patient care and evaluation of patient outcomes. As the coordinator of care within the bedside delivery team, the RN develops the plan of care based on the assessment, with consideration to strengths, risk factors, options, consequences of actions, health promotion, learning, comfort, safety, privacy, dignity and integrity, and ensures the patient care experience is coordinated and integrated within an interdisciplinary care model, both within acute care and across the continuum of care. The RN assigns care responsibilities and provides guidance to Licensed Practical Nurses according to their scope of practice, and assigns responsibilities to unregulated healthcare team members according to their scope of employment. Through the application of clinical knowledge, critical thinking and clinical judgment, the RN provides safe, competent, compassionate, ethical care and maintains professional autonomy as supported by the Nova Scotia College of Nursing (NSCN) Standards of Practice.

About You

Graduate of an approved School of Nursing
Registered or eligible for registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing (NSCN)
ACLS required or willing to obtain within orientation period
Minimum one (1) year previous experience in an Emergency Department or Emergency Nursing Program required

Reporting to the Health Services Manager, the Registered Nurse (RN) works to full scope of practice as an independent practitioner within an inter-professional and collaborative team, providing holistic (addressing bio, psycho, social, cultural and spiritual needs), and comprehensive care for individuals, families, groups, populations and communities across the continuum of care. The RN provides leadership and applies advanced nursing knowledge within specific practice settings, and in-depth nursing knowledge, skills and judgment in providing care to all individuals (includes families, groups, populations and communities). The RN will demonstrate expertise and leadership in nursing practice, maintain appropriate clinical competencies, participate on committees and interdisciplinary teams and contribute to a healthy workplace while practicing within the RN scope of practice. The duties of the RN will be carried out in accordance with the principles and practices that guide Nova Scotia Health.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
Graduate from an approved School of Nursing
Registered or eligible for registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing (NSCN)
Minimum two (2) years' recent and relevant Med/Surg nursing experience - Critical Care and/or Emergency experience preferred
Critical Care Nursing Program (CCNP) required. Where there are no qualified applicants, consideration may be given to RNs who express an interest and agree to complete a CCNP within two (2) years' of the date of hire
Current BLS certification
Current ACLS certification
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to interact positively with patients/residents, families, other health care providers and staff, demonstrating sensitivity, empathy, and warmth
Ability to organize, prioritize, and supervise patient/resident care
Ability to demonstrate sound decision-making skills in crisis situations and be accountable for decisions
Basic computer skills; Meditech an asset
Demonstrated leadership, organizational and time management skills
Physical and mental capabilities to perform the duties of the position such as fine motor dexterity and adjust to varying workloads
Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours
Permanent, Full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly
Shifts are 12-hour days and nights and may also include 8-hour shifts
Compensation and Benefits
$40.55 - $49.99 hourly
$51.74 with 25 years of RN experience
