Providence Health Care, one of Canada's largest healthcare organizations, has been dedicated to serving those in greatest need for over 120 years. It all began when the Sisters of Providence established St. Paul's Hospital in Vancouver. Today, Providence operates 17 sites and serves as a valuable health and wellness resource for families, patients, and residents throughout British Columbia.
At Providence, our guiding principle is "How you want to be treated." Our committed staff provide compassionate care that addresses the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs of our patients and residents. We focus on six specific populations: heart and lung, HIV/AIDS, mental health, kidney and renal, seniors, and urban health.
Collaborating with esteemed partners such as the BC Ministry of Health, Vancouver Coastal Health, and the Provincial Health Services Authority, the Providence Health Care Research Institute leads research in over 30 clinical specialties. As one of the province's two adult academic health science centers, St. Paul's Hospital is internationally recognized for its exceptional work. It houses several centers of excellence and research programs.
Providence embraces the responsibility of caring for society's most vulnerable populations. We understand the complexity of their needs and strive to improve their well-being through innovation, compassion, and respect. Our goal is to help them live healthier lives.
