Headwaters Health Care Centre (Headwaters) is a medium-size acute and complex continuing care facility, offering both inpatient and outpatient services, as well as an Emergency Department with 24/7 coverage. The hospital is home to a wide variety of family practice and medical practitioners, as well as specialists in a range of health care disciplines like anesthesiology, diagnostic imaging, general surgery, internal medicine, obstetrics and paediatrics. Headwaters is currently undergoing its first major expansion since opening at its current location in 1997, with construction underway on a new 8,700 square foot expansion that will house services such as chemotherapy and oncology, infusion clinics, minor procedures and telemedicine. The hospital is also taking on an exciting renovation of 11,800 square feet of existing hospital space that will add another operating room, improve reception, and expand pre- and post-surgical recovery areas. Expected to be completed in 2018, this transformative project will support the increasing needs of the growing community through greater access to high-quality and seamless health care.
