Position Description: Reporting to the Vice President Finance & Chief Privacy Officer, the Director of Engineering and Business Development will provide overall strategic and operational leadership for Lakeridge Heath’s facilities security and business development portfolio. Diverse talent, experience and passion for creating a culture and environment for innovation and change will be critical for managing risk, adding value and working in collaborative partnerships with the external community, clinical and operational leaders to deliver outstanding customer service. Understanding and having the ability to improve services, efficiencies and stewardship of physical assets in rare and complex environments is also critical to the role. Dealing with political, structural, policy, financial and process challenges in a team-based and collaborative manner. Working with key partners, the Director will be instrumental in creating the strategy, and leading the execution for exemplary staff and patient safety initiatives, facility services as well as ongoing and infrastructure projects. Inherent in the role will be the ability of the Director to lead Lakeridge Health’s continued agenda of growth and modernization as well as to support growth and innovation. Spanning all areas across the organization, the Director of Engineering, Infrastructure and Security will be responsible for: Provide strategic leadership to Establish the vision and direction for the Engineering and Business Development Portfolio in alignment with Lakeridge Health’s Vision, Mission, Values and Annual Business Plan. Overseeing a range of initiatives including projects related to staff and patient safety, facility upgrades, renovations, energy efficiencies and sustainability. Collaborating with other Lakeridge Health leaders in a broad range of organization—wide planning and continuous improvement activities. Building partnerships with internal and external stakeholders Providing senior level guidance on the planning and implementation of a range of active projects and corporate strategies. Qualifications : Engineering Degree in disciplines of electrical, mechanical or structural engineering with an MBA or equivalent preferred. 15 years of leadership experience in a large, unionized, multi-sited facilities management organization preferably in Canadian health care Experience within health care security management or equivalent related experience in a criminal justice field would be an asset. Managed successfully all aspects of maintenance, operations and capital projects (cyclical renewal & replacement, deferred maintenance) of all building and infrastructure systems, equipment and components ideally within the health care industry, but other complex facility experience may also be considered; Thorough knowledge of security CCTV, access control and fire/life safety systems as well as clinical application and medical technology; Strategic thinker and strong communication skills Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Inclusion, Compassion, Innovation, Teamwork and Joy; Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff safety, patient safety and environmental safety and participation in regular in-service education sessions, and; Proven good attendance record with capability of maintaining this same standard.
