Englehart and District Hospital and the Kirkland and District Hospital is seeking a Vice President, Corporate Services & Chief Financial Officer who possesses progressive leadership ability and experience in financial planning, analysis and management to join their hospitals’ Executive Team. The hospitals have a combined staff complement of over 240 FTEs and budget of approximately $40 million. This shared position between the two hospitals will report to the hospital’s President & Chief Executive Officer and work closely with the Board of Directors, the Management Teams and the Finance Department. Position Summary Qualifications : In this key leadership role, the Vice President, Corporate Services and Chief Financial Officer will be responsible for ensuring the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the day-to-day operations of the Hospitals. Reporting directly to the President and Chief Executive Officer, and in collaboration with the senior administration team, the VP will develop and execute on strategic business and project plans that drive all operational, financial and administrative components and support the overall objectives of the Hospitals. The VP will lead and support a full range of initiatives related to: corporate planning & project management; human resources and organizational development; finance and procurement; information technology; facilities; health information; physician recruitment and corporate governance. Key leadership initiatives for the VP will be to: Continue to streamline the business planning cycle to ensure operational efficiency and accountability; Launch various corporate initiatives and internalize key performance indicators; reinforce best governance practices; and improve operational capacity; and Champion a creative workforce strategy that empowers a high performance culture and collaborative environment. Other responsibilities will include: Oversee and manage the complete financial and purchasing functions of the organizations. This would include the following areas: General Ledger, Payroll, Accounts Payables, Accounts Receivables and Material Management. Managing the planning and acquisition of capital assets, ensuring assets are properly recorded, amortized and disposed according to established policies. Preparing timely and accurate annual operating and capital budgets. Prepare timely and accurate monthly financial reports and presentations including Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Statement of Cash Flows, Variance Reports for the CEO, the Board of Directors, the Management Teams and external partners as required. Meet Ministry reporting requirements: i.e. Trial Balance Submissions, Quarterly Submissions, HAPS, HSAA, MSAA, BPSAA etc.. Conduct financial variance analysis and statistical analysis. Develop and implement effective policies and procedures. Provide support during contract / pay equity negotiations with respective unions. Required Knowledge / Skills: Chartered Professional Accountant designation in good standing is required. Bachelor degree from a recognized post-secondary institution and an acceptable specialization in finance, business administration, accounting, informatics or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Extensive*** experience in managing human, financial and information resources, preferably in the public / healthcare sectors. Recent and extensive*** management experience as a senior executive, providing corporate leadership and direction in financial resource management. Recent and extensive*** management experience, as a senior executive, providing corporate leadership and direction in one or more of the following areas: human resources, material resources and/or information management/technology. Significant** experience as a senior executive in the establishment and maintenance of management and control frameworks, policies, practices and systems in one or more of the following areas: finance, human resources, information management or information technology. Experience working in a shared services environment is an asset. Experience in liaising, consulting and establishing partnerships and productive working relationships with public and private sector organizations. Experience as a senior executive in providing expert advice and making comprehensive recommendations to senior officials of the organization on strategic direction, complex policy issues and change management initiatives. Ten years progressive experience, including extensive experience in a senior management capacity preferably acquired across a minimum of two business entities. Establish collaborative relationships with executives, directors, senior financial leaders and senior managers associated with managing finance activities and/or leading financial management change, preferably in the public sector. Significant** experience leading and coaching multi-disciplinary senior financial managers and professionals.
