Reporting to the President and CEO, the Vice President, Patient Care and Risk Management (VP) is responsible for the overall management and delivery of clinical operations at Parkwood Institute Main Building (rehabilitation, specialized geriatric services, palliative care, complex care, veterans care) and Mount Hope Centre for Long Term Care. Additionally, this role has corporate responsibility for Privacy, Risk Management, and Patient Relations. With oversight for an operating budget of $90M, the VP, together with a highly qualified team of operational and physician leaders, will provide the overall executive leadership for all clinical programs across this broad portfolio and the establishment of the strategic priorities for these services. The VP will work with the Senior Leadership team, physicians, staff, volunteers, patients, and families, and all key St. Joseph’s partners and communities to ensure the provision of high quality, compassionate, and integrated care. Key priorities for this role will be to: Champion an organizational transformation that focuses on building a more integrated and inter-connected health system and advancing partnerships across the continuum of care which includes enhancing integration and transitions in care with hospital and community partners. Lead, advance, and support corporate initiatives related to the Southwest Regional Frail Senior Strategy, operational and capital redevelopment planning for Mount Hope Centre for Long Term Care, and the newly established Gray Centre for Mobility and Activity at Parkwood Institute. Optimize and enhance opportunities for health system integration and transitions in care by actively engaging external partnerships across the health care system, community partners, universities and colleges, governments, research centres, and other regional and provincial partners. Build and maintain relationships with a range of key primary care networks, community providers, hospitals, and cross-sector agencies to advance a partnership strategy that is integrated, outcome-focused, and transformative. Leverage technology solutions to enable and lead integrated and virtual care strategies across the care continuum. As a member of the Senior Leadership team, facilitate cross-functional team collaboration in developing and implementing strategies that drive improved patient care delivery systems. The successful candidate will have 7-10 years of progressive senior-level leadership experience. With a track record in health system operations, system leadership, and building partnerships, the successful candidate will have experience that ideally spans the care continuum and has had a sustainable impact on improving patient care.
