Program Operational Director, Diagnostic Imaging

POSITION SUMMARY:
Ensure that the Imaging department’s resources are coordinated and aligned to optimally meet the imaging needs of the patient population and the healthcare providers that rely on KHSC Diagnostic Imaging Department. In the role of Program Operational Director (POD), the individual must communicate and work with regional partners to ensure access to tertiary diagnostic imaging services.
The POD must have a strong focus on providing an environment that is supportive of education within the department, both through formal alliances with training programs such as the radiology residency program affiliated with Queens, and numerous Colleges and Universities as clinical placement site for technologist training. The department must promote and environment of continuous learning and development with its entire staff.
A key focus for the POD is a relentless focus on Quality Improvement and Process Improvement which allow for maximum efficiency while improving access to imaging for patients in a safe and patient and family centered environment.
Within this role the employee is accountable for contributing to the delivery of the Kingston Health Sciences Centre strategy. As an employee, one must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible for actively promoting and supporting patient and family centered engagement and care in all we do.

Hotel Dieu Hospital (HDH) and Kingston General Hospital (KGH) are joining forces to operate as one organization on two sites. HDH will continue to provide specialized outpatient care while KGH will provide complex and specialized inpatient care and cancer care.
