Providence Village Inc. will provide neighbourhoods of people helping people, inspiring hope, fulfilment and care of the Earth. As the leader of Providence Village Inc., you will create partnerships that result in welcoming accommodation and the provision of health and social services in two locations, Providence Village and Providence Commons, that will address the complex needs of the most vulnerable people living in Kingston and surrounding areas.
As Executive Director, you will work with other community organizations to establish integrated initiatives in neighbourhoods where affordable housing, support services, health services and food security are central. The Executive Director will model compassion, respect, and integrity in the execution of his or her duties and in the formation of partnerships with other organizations committed to the service of the vulnerable. Irrespective of your personal faith, in your actions and your words, you will live the mission of Providence Village inc.
Your preparation should include a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a relevant field and leadership experience at the senior level. You will bring experience in developing a master plan, finding willing and suitable partners, structuring lease agreements, facilities planning, construction and operations management.
With a broad perspective grounded in a knowledge of and appreciation for the social determinants of wellbeing, and a compassion for the needs of the most vulnerable in society, you will bring forward the caring legacy of the Sisters of Providence to lead the development of a Master Plan for programming of social and health services to be housed on two campuses, the Providence Village site with its spacious green-land and the Motherhouse of the Sisters of Providence and the Providence Commons site in downtown Kingston, nestled in the city’s core. As Executive Director, you will seek out and encourage willing partners who will choose to locate their services within the Village sites, forming a caring community and making a difference in the lives of Kingstonians most in need.
Your relationship building skills will attract partners and funding support for these projects while your operational skills will guide the implementation of these important services. Your managerial expertise will ensure the smooth operation of the Motherhouse providing a caring and comfortable home which meets the needs of the Sisters.
