Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care is our region's 301-bed specialty mental health hospital. Located on the shores of Georgian Bay in Penetanguishene, the hospital is home to the Waypoint Research Institute and also has the province's only high secure forensic mental health program for clients served by both the mental health and justice systems. We provide an extensive range of both acute and longer term psychiatric inpatient and outpatient services to Simcoe County, Muskoka, part of Dufferin County and the southern portion of Parry Sound. The hospital is recognized for the provision of exceptional care to those most needing mental health services and for its contributions to the understanding of mental illness. Waypoint Centre is currently filling multiple Clinical Director positions with our regional programs as listed above. Reporting to the Vice President, Clinical Services, the Director, Clinical Programs (Director) will be accountable for the overall operations and service delivery of assigned clinical portfolios. Working in close partnership with the Medical Directors and Program Psychiatrists, the Director oversees up to 140 professionals, with a total annual budget of up to $10 million. In this strategic and operational role, the Director will ensure an ongoing commitment to clinical excellence and patient-centered care by actively promoting and continuing advancement of evidence based practices and high quality focused, patient-centered care, both within, across and outside of the organization.
Key leadership initiatives for the new Directors will be to:
Align the strategic and operational objectives of the program areas with Waypoint’s strategic plan by continuing to advance a culture of clinical excellence and high performing teams.
Develop and nurture strategic alliances and partnerships with various internal and external partners, striving towards seamless integrated service delivery in response to the identified needs of the patient/client.
Provide leadership to guide ongoing program efficiencies and clinical best practices by continuing to promote and implement Continuous Quality Improvement, as well as Recovery and Trauma Informed Care principles and outcomes.
Develop and empower a cohesive and collaborative team that is service driven and focused on establishing an exceptional Client experience.
Work in collaboration with Ontario Health Team (OHT) partners in the delivery of services for a defined population.
The successful candidate will have 5-7 years of progressive professional experience in a complex mental health environment, excelling by building relationships, promoting collaboration, managing change and seeking out innovative alternatives. A champion of transformation, the successful candidate will have the ability to continuously raise the level of care while advancing mental health services in a multidisciplinary program environment. In addition to a Master’s Degree (or equivalent combination of experience and education), the candidate will ideally have experience with tertiary mental health and client/patient populations specific to the respective clinical program(s).
