Health Sciences North (HSN) is an academic health sciences centre, affiliated with the Health Sciences North Research Institute and the Northern Ontario School of Medicine. Guided by the Calls to Action from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and the 2019-2024 Strategic Plan of HSN and HSNRI, you will lead HSN and HSNRI’s efforts to invite First Nations and Metis communities to identify and address the priority health concerns and health equity gaps for Indigenous Peoples served by HSN. Bring health, social service and research partners together with Indigenous communities and organizations for the shared purpose of improving patient and family experiences, research engagement and health outcomes of Indigenous Peoples in Northeastern Ontario.
As Director of Indigenous Health, you will support an Advisory Council that guides this work and will partner with Indigenous Leaders, communities and service providers to co-develop and implement a multi-year work plan that identifies measurable milestones to achieve the outcomes of HSN’s Strategic Plan specific to Indigenous Health.
