Position Overview: 
Reporting to the Program Director, the Manager will work collaboratively with staff and physicians to provide management and leadership within the Cardiovascular and Stroke Program with specific responsibilities within the Cardiac Diagnostics and Heart Function Programs across the 3 hospitals. 

The Manager will work in collaboration with SHN patients/families, health teams′, hospital, community, Ministry of Health and Long Term Care Departments (i.e. CE LHIN, CorHealth, etc.) and provincial partners to promote excellence in the delivery of Cardiac Care at a system level, evidenced in outcomes and patient and families satisfaction. 

We are seeking an innovative, self-directed, results-oriented professional who will demonstrate keen knowledge and leadership in the promotion of the Regional Cardiac Care Program as a system of care across the Central East LHIN. The incumbent will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating and sustaining the programs offered in collaboration with the patient/families, community and municipal partners. 

The incumbent is also responsible to provide the overall management of daily operations, human and fiscal resources required to meet patient care needs, quality and patient safety initiatives, and the ongoing identification of the professional development of staff to meet evidence based best practices. 


  • University degree in health care discipline at the Master Level or related field of study is required. 
  • Registration in good standing with the relevant college as well as membership in the relevant professional association. 
  • Minimum of 5 years′ experience in Cardiovascular Health 
  • Minimum of 5 years of dedicated Leadership/Managerial experience in a Healthcare Environment. 
  • Familiarization and understanding of CorHealth mandate and data including Recommended Wait Times, Utilization and Referral Management. 
  • Familiarization and understanding of standards related to area of oversight i.e. Provincial ECHO standards and accreditation. 
  • Thorough understanding of Lean Philosophy and direct experience practicing Lean in Healthcare. 
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and manage quality improvement projects guided by Lean principles. 
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate events (e.g. strategic planning). 
  • Demonstrated skills in change management, project management and human resources management with ability to manage/implementation regional programs. 
  • Ability to influence others and able to establish credibility with all levels of the organization, challenging the status quo and being a catalyst for positive change. 
  • Effective stakeholder engagement, interpersonal skills and communication skills to ensure communication at all levels of the organization including staff, clients/residents and their families and other external contacts. 
  • • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, negotiation and conflict resolution skills. 
  • Demonstrated expertise and ability to teach, coach and mentor individuals and teams. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of other legislation governing/impacting on the profession and the implications on practice. 
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, client-focused environment and manage multiple competing priorities. 
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint. 
  • Demonstrated pattern of excellent attendance 
  • Valid Ontario Driver′s License and assess to a reliable vehicle are required for travel between sites.
