TRAINING OPPORTUNITY
Please note both a cover letter and resume are required to apply for this specialty training opportunity. Applicants must successfully complete the post-basic training education prior to working in the Department. The post-basic training education program requires full time attendance. Funding will consist of 100% of wages, tuition and books during the training program. Full Time Training: Feb 14, 2025 to July 18, 2025 Candidates accepting this training opportunity agree to remain with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) as a regular status nurse in the area of nursing applicable to the education program for which they are hired for at least 18 months subsequent to completing training. This will ensure that candidates are able to consolidate and apply skills in the specialty area that VCH has supported and funded candidates to complete. In the event that a candidate leaves the area of nursing applicable to the education program for which they were hired or VCH in under 18 months, VCH will seek to recover the cost of the program.

TRAINING OPPORTUNITY
Please note both a cover letter and resume are required to apply for this specialty training opportunity. Applicants must successfully complete the post-basic training education prior to working in the Department. The post-basic training education program requires full time attendance. Funding will consist of 100% of wages, tuition and books during the training program. Full Time Training: Feb 14, 2025 to July 18, 2025 Candidates accepting this training opportunity agree to remain with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) as a regular status nurse in the area of nursing applicable to the education program for which they are hired for at least 18 months subsequent to completing training. This will ensure that candidates are able to consolidate and apply skills in the specialty area that VCH has supported and funded candidates to complete. In the event that a candidate leaves the area of nursing applicable to the education program for which they were hired or VCH in under 18 months, VCH will seek to recover the cost of the program.

The salary range for this position is CAD $41.42/Hr. - CAD $55.91/Hr.

The STOP HIV Outreach Team is an intensive case management team comprised of nurses, social workers and outreach workers who follow HIV+ individuals with challenges engaging or maintaining their linkage to care and/or adhering to their treatment programs. Over time the intent is to transition these clients to lower intensity resources as they develop and demonstrate increased ability for self-care. As a transitional team, the level of support we provide to each client is on a continuum and will vary depending on where the client is in relation to their care plan.
As a HIV/AIDS Outreach Nurse with Vancouver Coastal Health, you will:
Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide outreach services to vulnerable/marginalized clients and communities who are at high risk for HIV/AIDS.
Provide frontline primary health care services to clients in the form of immediate assessment, intervention and treatment.
