MH O/P Services Adult Ambulatory Mental Health Posting # 67094 Reporting to the Coordinator, Adult Ambulatory Mental Health, the successful candidate will work as part of an integrated team within the General Adult Ambulatory Mental Health program. Day Treatment Services provide outpatient programs to individuals diagnosed with a mental illness between the ages of 16 and 64, helping them through their recovery process. Treatment is provided through group therapy with supportive community linkages. Our practice is client centered, evidence-based and goal-oriented. Our goal is to maximize the client’s current level of functioning and help with reintegration into the community through support, education and linkage. Temporary Full Time Rate of Pay:                         $34.67 per hour to $50.52 per hour Duration:                               7 months Qualifications Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario Current BLS for Healthcare Providers course: Certification in Canadian Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing CPMHN(c) preferred Successful completion of a BScN degree Minimum 5 years recent, related experience working with people experiencing mental illness in an outpatient and/or community environment Demonstrated working knowledge & skills in the application of statutory legislation including but not limited to the Mental Health Act, PHIPA, and PIPED Ability to demonstrate working knowledge of services across the mental health care continuum to facilitate discharge planning Demonstrated excellence in assessment, treatment, related experience & knowledge as it relates to mental health care populations Intermediate to advanced computer skills preferably in Excel, Infomed (Workload measurement), Power Chart and Cerner Ability to establish therapeutic relationships and demonstrate the knowledge and ability to provide supportive psychotherapy, problem psychotherapy and psychotherapy education to individuals and their families. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with community partners and as part of an inter-professional team Knowledge of co-ordination of health care issues and acute and tertiary health care system Ability to demonstrated working knowledge of psychopharmacology as it relates to the geriatric population Demonstrated flexibility and a commitment to working within an academic environment Demonstrated crisis assessment and intervention skills Demonstrated time management, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. Mental Health Mental Health Inpatient Program   is a provider of adult mental health services primarily for Middlesex County. The program offers stabilization and treatment for adults over 18 years of age. The inpatient service offers short-term admissions for crisis stabilization, assessments of a variety of mental health spheres and coordination with community resources for follow up treatment and community support after discharge.  Care provided includes crisis intervention, individual support and milieu management.  The mental health nurse works within the context of a collaborative interdisciplinary team reflecting the principles of patient family centered and evidenced based care. The (MSICU) is a level three critical care unit that specializes in the care of various patient populations such as: neurosurgical, transplantation, medical and general surgery patients. The CSRU specializes in the post-operative care of patients who have had cardiovascular surgery such as bypass and valve replacements and heart transplants.  Together the MSICU and CSRU provides exemplary continuous care of all critically ill patients requiring intensive technological, pharmacological and paramedical support delivered in a cohesive, cooperative, integrated manner.
