Vice President, Patient Programs, Flow and Chief Nursing Executive The Organization Located in Barrie, Ontario, Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH), is a large regional health centre serving residents across the fast-growing region of Simcoe County and the District of Muskoka, providing care through 422 physicians, 2,700 nursing, allied health professionals and support staff, as well as 750 volunteers. RVH has many surgical and medical sub-specialities, as well as adult medical/surgical intensive care and a separate cardiac intensive care unit, a robust women and children’s program, adult mental health and addictions program, and comprehensive laboratory and imaging services. RVH offers an array of specialized regional services including the Simcoe Muskoka Regional Cancer Program, the Regional Child and Youth Mental Health Program, the Simcoe Muskoka Regional Heart Program and Regional Renal Hub Program, as well as being a designated Level 2 Vascular Centre. RVH has recently received both Exemplary Standing and Stroke Distinction from Accreditation Canada. In addition, RVH is a Best Practice Spotlight Organization as designated by the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario. The health centre boasts a 74% Team RVH workforce engagement score and has successfully balanced its budget in the past nine successive years. The Position As Vice President, Patient Programs, Flow and Chief Nursing Executive (VP CNE), you will provide leadership over a portfolio that includes Emergency, Intensive Care, Medicine, Patient Flow, Professional Practice, Spiritual Care, Clinical/Business Ethics as well as serve as the Ontario Health Team Clinical Lead. Reporting to the President and CEO and as a member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will have the opportunity to translate RVH’s Vision ‘Make each life better. As RVH continues their journey of clinical excellence, your systems perspective will ensure that outcomes are integrated with key performance and quality drivers. A champion of clinical excellence and innovations in care, you’ll oversee the development and delivery of programs in this portfolio to ensure support for RVH’s ambitious transformational path. You will work collaboratively with your colleagues to support education, professional practice and system leadership, and partner with non-clinical program leadership to advance integrated care and promote a patient and family centred environment. In addition, you will continue to develop external relationships that expand the strategic objectives and reach of RVH. As the CNE, you will lead interprofessional practice priorities while supporting the Board of Directors on areas of nursing and allied health practice. Key leadership priorities for the VP CNE will be to: Support the organization in its achievement of key milestones and quality initiatives to promote a culture of clinical excellence and transformative patient care. Plan, develop and implement patient engagement strategies that effectively integrate the patient within an interprofessional practice model of care. Facilitate integrated care networks and strengthen RVH’s relationship with system partners to improve access, flow and coordination of services. Foster professional development and continuous learning opportunities for healthcare professionals while encouraging interprofessional collaboration. Provide leadership for best operational practices and develop creative strategies to evolve program goals and effective/efficient clinical service delivery. Foster strategic partnerships and maintain effective, collaborative relationships with health care partners and other key external stakeholders. Experience The successful candidate is a visionary nursing leader with a passion for interprofessional practice and building high-performing quality organizations. You will have at least ten years of progressive experience in a similarly complex health care environment with a track record in leading patient engagement strategies, system integration and clinical transformation.
