For more on CMHA WW, please visit: http://www.cmhaww.ca The Opportunity Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Finance and Organizational Performance is a member of the Senior Leadership team and is accountable and responsible for all financial management, facilities planning and management and information systems, organizational performance reporting, and the development and implementation of revenue diversification strategies. This role will work closely with the Executive Director and the senior leadership team to ensure a financially sound organization with a diversified revenue base that excels in fulfilling its mission. This role combines strategic and operational accountabilities with the need for strong collaborative leadership. Responsibilities The Director will be responsible for the leadership and management of following functions: All financial operations of CMHA WW including: Compliance with all legislative requirements, Board policies and procedures, funding body criteria and professional standards. The monitoring of financial results and expenditures by using variance analysis, forecasting methodologies and comparison to the fiscal budget. Provision of strategic and operational recommendations and guidance to the senior team for attaining the organization’s financial goals and targets, and to the Board in fulfilling its financial oversight responsibility. All facilities services including an up to date property management plan for regular maintenance, identification of problems and remedies for all sites owned and/or rented by the organization. Information services and systems that: a) enable the branch to fulfill reporting requirements as required by funders, legislation and professional standards, b) support sound decision making Keep pace with provincial and local e-health developments and directions. Supervision of direct reports including but not limited to: hiring, assigning and monitoring work, developing, coaching and monitoring performance. Continuous quality improvement of areas within the assigned portfolio including monitoring, analyzing trends and developing and implementing remedies Revenue Diversification and Fund Development strategies for growth and sustainability. In collaboration with the senior team, the establishment, analysis and interpretation of key performance indicators regarding organizational performance and preparation of monthly dashboards. Key Selection Criteria A proven track record, as a Director of Finance/Chief Financial Officer in the health and/or social service sectors and of achieving balanced budgets and meeting annual financial targets. Capacity for strategic thinking and the ability to translate strategic priorities into operational success within the healthcare and social service sectors. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement successful revenue diversification strategies. Ability to get things done though demonstrated ability of being a team player and developing and maintaining strong collaborative relationships. Demonstrated commitment to the values of CMHA WW and the principles of servant leadership. Competencies and Skills Exceptional financial leadership skills and business acumen relevant to the health and/or social service sectors. Planning, organizing, and project management abilities to lead and facilitate budget development, monitoring, financial planning and reporting within required funder timelines. Ability to think strategically and to assess the implication of decisions on agency goals. Highly developed team work skills and the ability to build consensus and alignment across a diverse range of stakeholders. An interpersonal and leadership style that embodies servant leadership and engenders the respect and confidence of the Board, leadership and staff from all levels of the organization. Excellent communication (oral, written and listening) and conflict resolution skills. Qualifications University Degree and accounting designation from the Canadian Institute of CPAs or an internationally recognized accounting body Minimum of five years of recent and relevant financial management experience as well as a minimum of five years working at the senior management level within the non-profit and/or public sector Ideally a CPA or MBA preferred Understanding of and experience overseeing decision support (including working knowledge of Health Informatics, statistics and MIS interface), information technology and facilities management functions. Experience in the public or not-for-profit sector and in a unionized environment will be considered an asset. Proven ability to apply leadership skills, strong analytical and problem solving skills to effectively manage a diverse portfolio and meet position requirements.
