About The Opportunity The Vice President (VP) of Finance & Corporate Services serves as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and is responsible for providing strategic and operational direction for all financial and corporate services activities of the PSFDH including oversight for the Finance department as well as; Payroll, Material Management, Food Services, Housekeeping, Health Records, Privacy, Patient Registration, Patient Relations, Communications, Health Information Services, and Plant Operations/Maintenance. This Senior Leadership position provides a proactive and collaborative approach to financial guidance and advice to the Board of Directors, President and CEO and other Senior Leadership and management team members. As a Senior Leader, The VP Finance & Corporate Services is responsible for the ongoing oversight and evaluation of financial and corporate services and activities in alignment with the organizational philosophy of Patient and Family Centered Care. Responsibilities Responsible for all financial reporting to the PSFDH Board of Directors (Board), Local Health Integration Network (LHIN), Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (MOHLTC) and other relevant agencies Responsible for PSFDH cash management including banking, investing and financing in accordance with applicable PSFDH policies. Advises and provides leadership for continuous control of costs and expenditures as well as optimizing current revenue streams and seeking new funding envelopes. Co-ordinates monthly Board Finance/Audit Committee meetings with President & CEO and Committee Chair and coordinates and/or prepares documentation to support the agenda. Co-ordinates and supervises internal control systems which will ensure continuing protection of all assets and immediately identify potential for actual loss of assets, e.g. audits, insurance, accounting controls. Cultivates effective relationships with External Auditors, representatives of the MOHLTC, LHIN and other agencies. Develops and plans PSFDH’s Annual Operating and Capital Budget process in conjunction with the President & CEO, Vice Presidents and Department Managers. Participates in long range planning for PSFDH and provides advice on the financial implications to the hospital. Coordinates activities and processes of all corporate service departments in portfolio The Ideal Candidate As an ideal candidate, you require: Undergraduate Degree, i.e. Baccalaureate Business Administration or equivalent. Current CPA Accounting Designation (CA, CGA or CMA) Minimum 5 years direct involvement and management experience in a hospital setting. Excellent leadership, interpersonal and presentation skills.
