The Position Working in close partnership with the Vice President, Patient Care Services, the Program Director, Acute Inpatient Medicine (‘Director’) oversees approximately 600+ professionals across two of the three THP sites and with a total annual operating budget of approximately $55M. In this strategic and operational role, the Director will inspire and ensure an ongoing commitment to clinical excellence and patient-centred care by actively promoting and continuing to advance best practices, standardized care and high-quality services, both within and outside of the Hospital. THP is in the midst of planning for the implementation of a new Hospital Information System (OneTHP) and has initiated planning for new hospital builds at the Mississauga Hospital and Queensway Health Centre sites. The Director will play a key role in supporting the planning of these exciting major projects from a Program perspective. Key leadership initiatives for the new Director will be to: Identify, develop and implement key strategic program initiatives that can maximize quality, advance transformative care, and adopt best practices across the continuum of the patient’s journey. Work collaboratively with Program Leadership and teams to strengthen performance outcomes and translate our THP strategy within Acute Inpatient Medicine. Advance partnerships with various partners and stakeholders, striving towards seamless integrated care, program excellence and system innovation. Strengthen interprofessional collaboration and connectivity across teams, clinical programs and with partner hospitals. Advance and lead education, research, and innovation across the Medicine Program. Drive continuous improvements in quality of care, patient experience, and clinical and operational excellence. Lead a high-performing and cohesive team while fostering collaborative engagement, leadership development, and human resource planning. Provide regional and provincial leadership to guide ongoing system-level initiatives exploring partnerships and program efficiencies. Experience The successful candidate will be a nurse with 5-7 years of progressive leadership experience in a similarly complex environment, and excels by building relationships, promoting collaboration, managing change, and seeking out innovative solutions. A transformational and results-oriented leader, the successful candidate will have the ability to continuously improve the staff and patient experience, while advancing outcomes in a high-volume, fast-paced, multi-site environment. In addition to a Master’s Degree, the candidate will ideally bring leadership experience in managing complex, fast-paced health care environments.
