Interior Health (IH) is the regional health authority serving a population of over 801,000 people in the Southern Interior of British Columbia. It is one of British Columbia’s five regional health authorities that govern, plan and deliver healthcare services within their geographical areas. Interior Health provides a wide range of integrated health-care programs and services.
Reporting directly to the VP, Clinical and Corporate Services and leading a large, distributed team, the Program Director, Medical Imaging is responsible for the overall operation and management of Medical Imaging across the entire Interior Health (IH). In this Executive Director level role, the Program Director provides clinical and operational leadership and strategic direction to ensure the optimal delivery of Medical Imaging services and initiatives that meet IH goals, objectives, and patient needs while maintaining system sustainability.
Working in partnership with the Medical Imaging Medical Director, key deliverables include building innovation capacity, growing and expanding services, developing sustainability plans, and being part of the succession plan for the portfolio. The Program Director leads the department Senior Leadership Team and ensures that priorities are addressed, services are integrated, and performance targets are met.
The ideal candidate is a systems-thinking healthcare leader with broad experience in a leadership role within a large and complex, multi-site environment. An understanding of technology is required, which could come from various backgrounds including Medical Imaging/lab/diagnostic/etc., IM/IT, biomedical engineering, or related. An effective communicator and strong relationship builder, the preferred candidate will be able to lead a disbursed team through shared vision and values; develop and improve service quality, delivery, standards, and practices; and solve problems making data driven decisions.
