Director, Finance and Decision Support

South Bruce Grey Health Centre is a four-site hospital located in mid-western Ontario with locations in Kincardine, Walkerton, Chesley and Durham.  We serve a community of 44,000 people, plus 10,000 seasonal residents and 30,000 tourists across our catchment area.  Two hours from Toronto and London, and 90 minutes from Kitchener-Waterloo, all of our sites offer 24/7-hour emergency care.  Other services include acute, coronary, obstetrical, surgical and a full range of diagnostic and ambulatory care services.  SBGHC is complemented by four strong, vibrant and supportive Foundations, as well as an engaged Patient and Family Advisory Council.

Reporting to the Vice President of Corporate Services and CFO, the Director provides leadership and direction for all aspects of financial planning and management of the Finance Department including the decision support function along with patient registration, health records and privacy.  

The Director will:

  • Lead an overall transformation of the finance department to new Target Operating Model by streamline and modernizing the finance department
  • Establish a coordinated finance IT strategy to drive modernization processes with automation and integration of system across the organization 
  • Recommend the development of new processes and services, including data management, decision support and reporting processes, and manages the resulting implementation
  • Model behavior and training to empower leaders, employees and foster accountability in the organization
  • Work in conjunction with the CFO to develop and implement best practices and efficient processes to ensure maximization of the resource management system and functionality
  • Develop, coordinate and evaluate a multi year capital plan to support on going organizational replacements and investment
  • Establish effective relationships with regional partners and other hospital peers to share financial approach, collaboration opportunities and strategy

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • University Degree in a related field supported by a professional accounting designation (CA, CMA, CGA)
  • Demonstrated leadership experience and accountability with financial operations, systems and reporting, preferably in the health care sector or public sector
  • Strong leadership skills in change management and ability to lead through transitions
