Full-time, temporary | 18 month assignment beginning September 2020 | 40 hours per week | Benefited position |

We are looking for an innovative, open minded Seniors Wellness Advisor to join our Westerleigh PARC in West Vancouver. In house we refer to this role as Wellness Nurse. This is not your typical Registered Nurse position. As a Wellness Nurse you will combine your love for seniors, RN community experience and holistic healthcare approach to provide support to our residents and team members.

Seniors Wellness Advisor Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with different departments and external resources to provide health clinics and assessments for resident’s and prospects;
  • Offer emergency response, support and coaching;
  • Develop Independent Living, care plan direction and assist in educating the residents, team and families, as the clinical subject matter expert;
  • Offer resident and family wellness support, encouraging residents to maintain an independent lifestyle that ensures safety and quality of life.

Seniors Wellness Advisor Skills and Experience:

  • Registered Nurse and a minimum of 4 years’ experience in a similar work environment – knowledge of and experience with different levels of senior’s care
  • In-depth knowledge of the aging process and related physiology/risk factors
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to support effectively and tactfully residents, families, agencies and employees
  • Experience in administering health clinics and assessments/screening
  • Effective, timely and professional English communication skills, both oral and written
  • Strong problem solving, decision-making abilities and attention to detail
  • Effective independent and teamwork skills and ability to contribute to a collaborative, fun, work environment
  • Proficiency in computer programs including Microsoft Suite and CRM software
  • Ability to create, maintain and interpret reports and statistics
  • Empathy for and understanding of the needs of seniors, their families, and their professional service providers
