Job Description

About the Role

Reporting to the Executive Director and working as a collaborative member of the Senior Management Team, you will drive the financial and administrative performance of the Maltby Centre, ensuring efficient and effective operations.

This will be accomplished through setting the strategic direction, providing collaborative leadership and managing both team members and service providers in the areas of finance, information technology, facilities management, human resources management and quality assurance. In addition, you will utilize your expertise in financial planning and control to provide strategic counsel to the organization.

Key Priorities

  • Operational corporate oversight on financial matters related to budget development and management, cost benefit analysis, forecasting and securing of new funding and provide financial reporting and analysis
  • Ensure a responsive administrative and technological infrastructure to support effective telecommunication service delivery
  • Plan, manage and execute the information technology infrastructure for the organization
  • Ministry reporting including variance analysis as well as risk identification and mitigation
  • Effective functioning of facilities to provide efficient and safe working environments for staff
  • Identify, assess and address enterprise risk management issues that may impact on achievement of the strategic directions of the organization
  • Advance service excellence and professional currency of assigned interprofessional staff through the provision of leadership, supervision, motivation, guidance, support, education, training, resources and feedback

Skills and Qualifications

  • University Degree in Finance, Commerce, Business/Public Administration or related discipline and current unrestricted CPA designation 
  • Additional experience in leading an information technology department
  • Experience leading quality assurance
  • Minimum seven (7) years’ relevant experience, including five (5) years’ progressively responsible corporate services management experience working in a unionized public-sector organization
  • Experience in the not-for-profit/charity sector, preferably at the senior management level, ideally within a community, social services or health care field, an asset
  • Demonstrated superior knowledge of and ability to apply legislation, public policy and practices relevant to public-sector organizations in the areas of funding, finance, employment, labour, information technology, quality assurance and performance measurement frameworks
  • Demonstrated commitment to a culture of continuous improvement and accountability with the ability to plan and implement program evaluation
  • Alignment of values with the mission, vision and values of the Maltby Centre
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check (including Vulnerable Sector Screening) and Pre-Employment health assessment
  • Valid Province of Ontario driver’s license as well as automobile insurance with a minimum liability of one million dollars for business purposes
  • Preference will be given to those candidates who are bilingual
