Reporting to the Executive Vice President, Medical and Clinical Programs, the Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO) will provide medical leadership for information management and technology throughout the Scarborough Health Network (SHN). In collaboration with Health Information Technology (HIT), the CMIO will work with physicians across SHN to bring a strategic focus to the implementation of clinical information systems in order to increase efficiency and improve patient safety and quality of care.
The CMIO will guide professional staff to enhance the design and optimize the value of SHN clinical information system projects. This includes advising on the planning, development, delivery and engagement of innovative technology initiatives. The CMIO will also utilize evidence based research, best practices and physician and health professional input to provide leadership and direction throughout SHN for creating optimized clinical support systems.
