The Royal Inland Hospital (RIH) is in the Thompson Cariboo Shuswap health service area and is one of two Interior Health tertiary referral hospitals. Located in Kamloops, RIH offers high-level, specialty medical care including core physician specialties, 24 emergency and trauma services, ambulatory and outpatient clinics, and diagnostic services

The Surgical High Observation unit is a newer unit, part of the general 36 bed surgical unit at RIH. 4 beds offer care for high observation surgical patients while the remaining 32 beds provide care for general, urology, vascular and trauma surgical patients.

This is a permanent full-time position. Nursing shifts are rotating days and nights, 07:30 to 19:30 or 19:30 to 07:30.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP)
  • Three years recent related experience in an acute surgical setting, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Current CPR certification.
