President & Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
This is a career-defining mandate for a collaborative, innovative senior health care administrator with a proven commitment to patients and service, who can build positive partnerships and mobilize knowledge and quality evidence to influence action and deliver results.
Located in the City of Kawartha Lakes, in the heart of Ontario’s scenic Kawartha Lakes region, an area known for its exceptional quality of life and access to a wide array of amenities, Ross Memorial Hospital (RMH) is a 170-bed active, acute-care community hospital serving more than 80,000 local residents and seasonal visitors. Guided by the corporate values of Compassion, Respect, Excellence and Integrity, and a vision of Exceptional Care – Together, every team member across the organization is focused on impacting the quality of care and patients’ safety.
RMH is proud to be an early adopter and regional leader for many quality and process initiatives including a focus on patients which has resulted in impressive Patient Satisfaction Scores, putting the hospital 10% above the LHIN average. As the Hospital embraces the exciting health care changes ahead, while remaining focused on its mission “to be an exceptional community hospital valued by our patients and partners”, it is seeking a new President and CEO who, reporting to the Board of Governors, will be responsible for the organization and management of RMH in accordance with established policies.
A strategic and collaborative leader, conversant with emerging trends and adept at creating a shared vision, you’ll provide counsel and guidance to the Board, staff, physicians and volunteers in the planning and management of Hospital operations, while overseeing the implementation of the strategic plan.
Your excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to create productive networks to achieve results, will be invaluable as you develop effective relationships between the Hospital and internal and external stakeholders involved in key decision-making. This will include participating in provincial and regional activities and committees and initiatives within the City of Kawartha Lakes, Ontario Health Teams, the Central East Local Health Integration Network, Ontario Health Agency and the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care.
Politically astute and financially savvy, you’re well prepared to execute and strategically align evidence-informed decisions with the Hospital’s mission, vision and values, as well as measure and evaluate outcomes and accept accountability for results. These strengths will be evident as you oversee and ensure the development and implementation of effective quality improvement and risk management strategies and provide strategic financial oversight of operating and capital budgets and control systems.
As the champion of change and innovation, this pivotal leadership role demands you’ll have a sound understanding of clinical operations, followed by a post-graduate degree in Health or Business Administration or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Above all, you exhibit confidence, integrity and honesty in all your actions and interactions, while fostering a culture of empowerment, accountability and involvement in decision-making by all levels throughout the Hospital, encouraging team member creativity and initiative in meeting current and future challenges, and nurturing the development of Ross Memorial Hospital as a team of professionals working together to provide quality of care.
