 Victoria Hospital

The Renal Care Program provides assessment, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic renal failure for patients in Southwestern Ontario region (excluding Windsor/Essex). The Adam Linton Hemodialysis Unit has 35 stations and provides hemodialysis to both inpatient and outpatient populations. 

University Hospital

Reporting to the Coordinator, the Registered  Nurse supports patient centered care in the Renal Dialysis Unit. The Registered Nurse acts as member of the multi-disciplinary team to provide patient/ family centered care. 


The Renal Care program provides assessment, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic renal failure for patients in Southwestern Ontario region (excluding Windsor/Essex).  The Westmount Dialysis Unit has 24 stations and provides hemodialysis in a satellite setting. 

Regular Part Time 

Rate of Pay:              $33.23 per hour - $47.57 per hour

  • Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Current BLS for Healthcare Providers course: BLS-HCP(C)
  • Two years recent acute care nursing experience
  • Recent related Hemodialysis experience
  • Previous experience in Nephrology nursing preferred
  • Previous experience in primary nursing an asset
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Cerner or an electronic health record preferred
  • Demonstrated excellent clinical skills
  • Demonstrated independence in clinical practice
  • Demonstrates commitment to self-education (formal and informal)
  • Previous experience in working as part of an interdisciplinary team preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (both verbal and written) skills
  • Effective conflict identification and resolution skills
  • Demonstrate behaviors supporting our Core Values of Respect, Trust and Collaboration and commitment to the values of each hospital organization
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to the principles of patient family centred care
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis

Immunization Requirements:

  • Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis.  
  • Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step)
