In this key Director role, you will provide leadership and expertise to advance Interprofessional Practice, Quality, Risk, Patient Relations and the Infection Prevention Program across the hospital. You will be responsible for the advancement of high quality, safe, innovative care by fostering patient and provider engagement and interprofessional practice throughout the organization in alignment with the Vision, Mission, Values and Strategic Directions. Recognized as an effective change agent and through your transformative leadership style, clinical expertise in continuous quality improvement, risk management and evaluation of clinical best practices, you will advance the performance and experience of patients, staff and physicians.  

In collaboration with the team and aligned to regulatory and legislative requirements, the Director will engage and lead opportunities to address the learning needs of leaders and staff to advance a culture of patient safety through the implementation of a comprehensive Patient Safety/Quality Program, including patient safety tools and resources, education, monitoring and improvement initiatives in efforts to achieve a high performing learning organization.

Your qualifications include:

      Education

  • Regulated Health Professional, Nursing preferred.
  • Master’s Degree.
  • Advanced training in Quality, Risk, Patient Safety, Health Care Improvement, Project Management and Change Management an asset.

Experience

  • Minimum five years leadership experience in a hospital setting.
  • Experience in leading large scale change initiatives with demonstrated ability to manage multiple and complex projects to meet aggressive timelines.
  • Knowledge, skills and experience in clinical informatics and digital health competencies.
  • Knowledge and experience in the implementation and adherence to relevant professional practice standards and requirements in legislation and provincial policy such as ECFAA, QCIPA.
  • Knowledge and experience in risk management and quality improvement methods such as root case analysis, PDSA, Lean, FMEA, Incident/risk tools.
  • Demonstrated experience providing leadership and oversight of a hospital's accreditation according to Accreditation Canada standards.
  • Excellent facilitation, training and presentation skills.
  • Exceptional communicator both written and verbal.
  • Proven team leadership and experience in strategic planning, capacity planning and health care transformations.
  • Experience in leveraging data to inform decision-making and innovative practices.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and service excellence.
  • Strong critical and analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
