Reporting to the Executive Vice President Corporate Affairs & Chief Financial Officer the
Vice President of Human Resources (VP) is a member of the executive leadership team and interfaces frequently with the Board of Directors. The VP provides strategic and operational leadership to the organization in all matters relating to human capital, including the development of human resources strategies, tactics and programs based on best practice. The VP provides guidance and support for the organization’s enterprise wide strategic and enabling plans, which are driving transformative work across HHS and the hospital sector. They will also provide leadership for the People Plan, which encompasses the direction of work to be undertaken across HHS over the next three years to ensure that staff our engaged, empowered, and enabled to deliver on the organization’s mission and vision during a period of tremendous organizational and systems change.

To be successful in this key leadership role, the ideal candidate possesses a post-graduate education in business or a human resources related field, together with significant leadership experience in large, complex, unionized environments (experience in health care and/or broader public sector is an asset). In addition to relevant professional experience, the ideal candidate will have demonstrated talent for communication, building strong relationships and fostering cross-organizational collaboration. The VP will bring a leadership style that is visible, open, engaging and transparent. The successful candidate will bring a proven track record of executing on a people strategy in a highly complex and continually evolving environment.
