Program Manager - Perioperative Program - Hotel Dieu Hospital Site 

Hours of Work: Full-Time, Days
Salary: $84,267.83- $105,335.11 
Union: Non-Union
Location: Hotel Dieu Hospital Site                                    

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Program Manager will provide services in a manner consistent with KHSC – HDH Site’s Mission, Vision and Values and that reflects the core values of Patient and Family Centred Care (dignity, respect, information sharing, participation, and collaboration).Within their area of practice, the Program Manager: assumes 24 hour responsibility and accountability for a designated area and/or program and effectively demonstrates the managerial functions of planning, organizing, directing, monitoring and evaluating programs and practices; combines knowledge of clinical practice and judgement with administrative expertise to facilitate decision-making resulting in continuous quality improvement to patient care and organizational effectiveness; demonstrates effective leadership through promotion of change, facilitation of effective responses and creative initiatives in collaboration with the leadership and health care team; and fulfils the requirements for the reflective practice component mandated by his/her professional regulatory body.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Undergraduate degree in Nursing or Allied Health Profession from an Ontario university or equivalent.
  • 5 years health care experience.
  • Highly developed communication, presentational and writing skills (i.e. reports and proposals) as well as strong mentoring & coaching skills.
  • Effective organizational & time management skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of continuous quality improvement & risk management tools, hospital accreditation program standards, required organizational practices, patient safety & adverse event analysis.
  • Must possess interpersonal and communication skills required to provide effective leadership.
  • Computer Skills:  Microsoft office and e-mail/keyboarding skills.
  • Proven good attendance.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing, Allied Health or Health Administration or equivalent from a Canadian University or a recognized equivalent, is preferred.
  • Previous management experience that demonstrates effective leadership to multiple levels of staff.
  • 2-3 years’ experience in a perioperative setting
