Salary: $36.86 - $48.37 per hour

Your Opportunity:

If you are an experienced Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse who likes small town living, this position in Galahad might be for you! In this position you are Charge Nurse responsible for 20 Continuing Care residents in a small facility that focusses on the delivery excellent patient and family centred care. Galahad Care Centre has a very active recreation program and volunteer program that provides an individualized experience for each resident. Strong critical thinking and assessment skills are necessary in this position to provide excellent dementia care to our residents. As Charge Nurse, you are an integral part of the interdisciplinary care team, leading by example and mentoring new staff to give excellent care. This position is suitable for registered nurses who have recent gerontology nursing experience and/or education, charge nurse, and leadership training, however if you are a new RN graduate who has completed a rural practicum, or a gerontology practicum, or a practicum on a Medicine Unit, you may be considered. The Village of Galahad is situated less than 100 km from Camrose, just north of the beautiful Battle River valley, between Killam and Castor, east of Forestburg. Our town is a quiet family-oriented municipality of about a 150 strong with a mix of all age groups.


As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.


Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
