If you are an experienced Registered Nurse who likes small town living, this position in Bashaw might be for you! In this position you are Case Manager responsible for either Community or Supportive Living clients out of a small Home Care office that focusses on the delivery excellent client and family centered care. Bashaw Home and Community Care offers services from a variety of health disciplines; including nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and access to a dietician. The goal is to provide an individualized experience for each client. Strong critical thinking and assessment skills are necessary in this position to provide excellent care to our clients. As Case Manager, you are an integral part of the interdisciplinary care team, leading by example and mentoring new staff to give excellent care. This position is suitable for registered nurses who have recent homecare or acute care nursing experience and/or education, charge nurse, and leadership training, however if you are a new RN graduate who has completed a rural practicum, or a gerontology practicum, or a practicum on a Medicine Unit, you may be considered. Bashaw is situated less than 100 km from Camrose, just north of the beautiful Battle River valley, between Stettler and Camrose. Our town is a quiet family-oriented with a strong mix of all age groups. Bashaw offers a K-12 school, restaurants, grocery store and a community centre.
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
