An integral part of the organization’s Strategic Communications team, this role has accountability to Osler’s Vice President, Strategic Communications and Stakeholder Engagement, as well as its Director, Public Relations.
A key responsibility for the Senior Manager, Health Policy is the development and leadership of the organization’s external relations plan to help guide Osler's Senior Leadership team, and support and engage community partners and external stakeholders around Osler’s strategic priorities and its vision of patient-inspired health care without boundaries.
As part of this role, the Senior Manager, Health Policy will work closely with Osler's Senior Leadership team and indirectly – its Board of Directors – to provide counsel on strategies to engage with, and best position Osler’s opportunities as it relates to the organization's external stakeholders.
The role will also engage with external stakeholders including government officials, politicians, and health care partners to develop evidence-informed products, and credible and implementable solutions in building a stronger understanding of Osler’s opportunities to improve the local health system and beyond, as well as support a broad advocacy agenda.
The successful candidate must be organized, detail-oriented and deadline-focused. In all areas of activity, the Senior Manager, Health Policy will seek and incorporate direction from the Vice President, Strategic Communications and Stakeholder Engagement and Director of Public Relations, to help develop policy and advocacy products/strategies to identify and secure opportunities for the organization, and contribute to strategic decision-making with respect to relationships externally.
The role involves people leadership opportunities with one full-time employee currently.

Brampton Civic Hospital provides care to Osler's most complex and seriously ill or injured patients through a mix of inpatient and outpatient services.
Etobicoke General Hospital is a traditional community hospital that provides all aspects of care from emergency medicine to surgery and specialist visits.
Peel Memorial Centre for Integrated Health and Wellness is an outpatient hospital (opened February 2017), providing urgent care, day surgery and specialty clinics, and focuses on helping individuals with chronic conditions manage their disease better.
