The Territorial Manager, Primary Care is primarily focused on ensuring that health care across the NWT is delivered consistently in accordance with the governing strategies, policies and laws. In order to achieve this goal the Territorial Manager is responsible for leading a collaborative process that establishes common and consistent practices for care delivery. This process includes liaising internally with Regional Managers and COOs as well as externally with the Tlicho Community Services Agency and the Hay River Health and Social Services Authority for the delivery and review of primary care programs.
The successful applicant is expected to have a high impact on the positive health outcomes for patients across the territory. The decisions and recommendations made by the incumbent must take into account unique regional needs to deliver optimal territory-wide primary care.
The Territory Manager, Primary Care provides leadership and strategic direction for four specific programs within their portfolio including:
1. Specialists Clinics
2. Practitioner Clinics
3. Ophthalmic Services
4. Dietician Services
The integrated service delivery model requires that these services are delivered in the context of a wider range of health and social services; therefore this scope of focus also touches the edges of the full spectrum of health and social services to ensure appropriate alignment. Three Territorial Leads/Specialists will report directly to this position to support development and implementation of specific territory-wide initiatives.
Typically the above qualifications would be attained by:
A Baccalaureate in a Health Related Field plus five (5) years of management and supervisory experience and 5 years' experience in a clinical health care setting.
Completion of a Health or Business Masters or a Management Program would be an asset.
Salary range for this position is from $53.65 per hour to $64.05 per hour (approximately $104,618 - $124,898.) plus an annual Northern Allowance of $3,450.
