President, McMaster Children’s Hospital and Vice President, Women & Children’s Health

Founded in 1988, McMaster Children’s Hospital (MCH) has rapidly become a leader in pediatric evidence-based care, collaborative research and innovative leading edge education. MCH is home to 165 acute care beds and 10 day beds, 80 subspecialty clinics, a Children’s Treatment Centre and one of the largest and most impressive Neonatal Intensive Care Units in Canada.
The dual title for this role (hereinafter the VP) reflects overall administrative responsibility for McMaster Children’s Hospital and the spectrum of Women’s Health services provided at HHS. The VP:
On the latter point, in his/her capacity as President of MCH, the incumbent must be able to confidently represent the Hospital to external constituencies, be conversant with and supportive of fundraising, and be a trusted ambassador relating to the provincial, national and international paediatric hospital ecosystem.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five to seven years progressive experience in senior management roles in women’s health and reproductive services and children’s health services. The successful candidate will possess a Master’s degree in Health Service Administration, Business Administration, or related area of graduate study. The preferred candidate will have an impeccable record of professional achievement along with a proven track record managing all clinical and non clinical aspects of operations for obstetrical, neonatal, and paediatric services, including significant operation management experience for the continuum of obstetrics/neonatal/paediatric inpatient services within a complex, matrixed healthcare organization.
