Ross Memorial Hospital (RMH) is an active acute-care community hospital serving over 80,000 residents and 35,000 seasonal visitors in the beautiful City of Kawartha Lakes.  As part of the Central East Local Health Integration Network, RMH provides a wide variety of acute and continuing care services. In 2015, the hospital received full accreditation with exemplary standing by Accreditation Canada, having met 99.6% if the industry's international standards of excellence.

As the Director, you will provide leadership and expertise to advance Professional Practice, Quality, Risk, Patient Relations and the Infection Prevention Program across the hospital. You will be integral in leading the clinical transformation through the implementation of the Clinical Information System (CIS), ensuring the required standards, structures and processes are in place.

In this key leadership role, the Director will be responsible for the advancement of high quality, safe, innovative care by fostering patient and provider engagement and interprofessional practice throughout the organization in alignment with the Vision, Mission, Values and Strategic Directions. Recognized as an effective change agent and through your strong leadership, clinical knowledge and expertise in continuous improvement in quality, risk, safety and the evaluation of clinical best practices you will improve the performance and experience of patients, staff and physicians.  

In collaboration with the team and aligned to regulatory and legislative requirements, the Director will lead the development and implementation of education opportunities to address the learning needs of leaders and staff related to change management, quality improvement plans, patient experience, patient safety and risk management in efforts to achieve a high performing learning organization.

Your qualifications include:

Education

  • Regulated Health Professional, Nursing preferred
  • Master’s Degree
  • Advanced training in Quality, Risk, Patient Safety, Health Care Improvement, Project Management and Change Management an asset

Experience

  • Minimum five years Leadership experience in a hospital setting
  • Experience in leading large scale change initiatives with demonstrated ability to manage multiple and complex projects to meet aggressive timelines
  • Knowledge, skills and experience in clinical informatics and digital health competencies
  • Knowledge and experience in the implementation and adherence to relevant professional practice standards and requirements in legislation and provincial policy such as ECFAA, QCIPA
  • Knowledge and experience in risk management and quality improvement methods such as root case analysis, PDSA, Lean, FMEA, Incident/risk tools
  • Demonstrated experience providing leadership and oversight of a hospital's accreditation according to Accreditation Canada standards
  • Excellent facilitation, training and presentation skills
  • Exceptional communicator both written and verbal
  • Proven team leadership and experience in strategic planning, capacity planning and health care transformations
  • Experience in leveraging data to inform decision-making and innovative practices
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and service excellence
  • Strong critical and analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
