The Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority is seeking a Regional Manager of Continuing Care in Fort Smith.

Fort Smith (Thebacha or “Beside the Rapids”), the southernmost community of the Northwest Territories, has been nicknamed the Garden Capital of the North. This town of 2,500 residents boasts a friendly social scene, endless outdoor activities, and an abundance of wildlife. Outdoor enthusiasts will have easy access to Slave River and over twenty-five kilometers of world class rapids, the sandy beaches of Pine Lake, and Wood Buffalo National Park, the second largest park in the world. Music lovers can join the flock of musicians who gather for the four-day South Slave Friendship Festival each year. When the weather turns chilly, residents can head to the swimming pool, fitness classes, hot tub, sauna, steam room, squash court, curling club, senior’s center, and boxing club.

As the Regional Manager of Continuing Care in Fort Smith, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing overall management for the Northern Lights Special Care Home, a 28-bed Long-term Care Home, as well as the Elder Day Programs, and the Home and Community Care Program. The successful candidate reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer for the Fort Smith Region. They will oversee a staffing group of forty-five, including seven direct reports, while playing an essential leadership role in supporting the facility’s mission of enriching the quality of life of the elderly and disabled in Fort Smith.

Typically, the qualifications for this position would be attained by a Baccalaureate in Nursing plus five (5) years of management / supervisory experience and three (3) years' experience in a continuing care setting.

Salary range for this position is $105,671 - $126,146 per year, plus a northern living allowance of $5,916.
