The Sault Area Hospital (SAH) is extremely proud of its approximately 1,700 dedicated staff, 370 physicians and over 500 volunteers who provide exemplary service to a catchment population of approximately 115,000. With an approved complement of 293 beds in spectacular new facilities, and a total annual budget of approximately $225 million, Sault Area Hospital (SAH) provides primary, secondary and select tertiary services to residents in Sault Ste. Marie and the District of Algoma. In addition to providing core services in Emergency and Critical Care; Medicine; Surgery; Obstetrics, Maternity and Paediatrics; Mental Health and Addictions; Complex Continuing Care; and Rehabilitation, SAH is also home to the Algoma Regional Renal Program and the Algoma District Cancer Program.

The Board of Directors seeks to recruit an accomplished senior leader for Sault Area Hospital, committed to its Mission, Vision and Values, devoted to health care innovation yielding excellent health care service delivery and outcomes. Possessing exceptional business acumen and financial sophistication, the new President and CEO should come from a culture of compassion, accountability and high-quality patient and family-centred care. He/she should have a background in exemplary executive healthcare leadership, operational accountability in a complex healthcare environment and have a demonstrated track-record of working with physician leaders, healthcare partners and community stakeholders. 

With consummate communication skills and the courage of his/her convictions, the candidate sought will make strategy come alive through thoughtful yet decisive operational execution.  He/she will engage diverse and multiple constituencies and work to ensure Sault Area Hospital is a vital participant in the health and social services communities of Sault Ste. Marie and the Algoma region. Possessing determination, keen intellect, empathy, compassion, and personability complemented by great interpersonal skills, the ideal candidate will relish the opportunity to lead by example and leverage the remarkable skills of physicians, staff and volunteers.
