Position:          Director, Client Services and Information Management (Full-time, permanent)

Location:         130 Bloor Street West, Toronto

Salary:             Commensurate with qualifications and experience

Health Shared Services Ontario (HSSOntario) is an agency of the Government of Ontario that supports Ontario’s 14 Local Health Integration Networks (LHINs) in meeting the healthcare needs of their local community.

Through the continuous development and delivery of quality improvement initiatives, province-wide digital health platforms, and other business and IT supports, HSSOntario uses leading-edge technology and best practices to enable health system integration and better patient care.



The Director, Client Services and Information Management is responsible for providing strategic oversight and leadership to a team that works with LHINs and other health sector partners to support quality and innovation in the delivery of health care service with a focus on home care/community programs and initiatives through identifying, developing, implementing and evaluating evidence-informed leading practices and policies.





  • Leads the development of an annual plan for the overall function.
  • Tracks and reports on the function’s operational plan and leads risk identification and the development of mitigation strategies.
  • Leads a cross-sector process to develop an annual plan of priority initiatives /projects.

 Operations & Administration:

  • Identifies operational improvement opportunities by monitoring and measuring the team’s performance.
  • Manages the development, implementation, evaluation and maintenance of quality improvement initiatives.
  • Leads and facilitates various provincial working groups/sessions including providing research and analytical support
  • Sets, manages and reports on functional budget.
  • Responsible for ensuring a culture of excellence in customer service within the function.
  • Ensures that the function in in full compliance with all HSSOntario policies as well as relevant provincial policies and legislation (health and safety, procurement, etc.).

 Stakeholder Relationship Management:

  • As the senior lead, is responsible for partnering with leaders from across HSSOntario, as well as with sector representatives in delivering evidence-informed change initiatives and improvements including developing tools, policies, processes and reports.

 Human Resources Management:

  • Leads workforce planning for the function ensuring an appropriate staffing model and training and development plan.
  • Provides leadership on an annual basis (performance planning and assessment, career management) as well as on an on-going basis with a focus on coaching, mentoring and on-going performance.



  • Master's degree in health or related field, or equivalent education and experience is preferred.
  • A minimum of seven (7) plus years’ of experience at a senior level, including experience working with stakeholders at various levels within the health care environment.
  • Knowledge of key management accountabilities including operational planning, performance measurement, budgeting, risk management, people leadership and stakeholder relationship management and project management.
  • Knowledge of the Ontario health care system.
  • Knowledge of and experience in Information Management/Analytics
  • Knowledge of the LHIN operating context
  • Knowledge of clinical best practices and clinical transformation is an asset.
  • Knowledge of clinical practice and clinical transformation.
  • Knowledge of program design, implementation and evaluation.
