Job Description

Based in Ottawa, the Eastern Ontario Regional Laboratory Association (EORLA) is the flagship initiative for progressive, innovative, and integrated laboratory practices in Ontario. Operating since 2012, EORLA is a not-for-profit, member-owned organization that provides laboratory services for 16 acute-care, hospital-based, clinical laboratories in the Champlain LHIN. With a budget of $120 million and staff of 875, EORLA conducts over 12 million diagnostic tests per year and continuously strives to deliver high-quality, patient-focused, and cost-effective services to meet the needs of the region’s patients. As EORLA continues to transform the way in which hospital laboratories operate, they are looking for a strategic, collaborative, and visionary Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to help shape the organization’s future.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO will set the vision, strategy, and direction for EORLA through the development and execution of a robust strategic, financial, and quality improvement plan. Highly respected and influential, the CEO will drive the regional healthcare discussion on transformational lab systems that improve patient management and streamline efficiencies. With a progressive and innovative mindset, the CEO will work with the members to advance laboratory stewardship, benchmarking programs, and explore opportunities for growth. As a natural collaborator, the incumbent will build strong internal and external relationships with staff, members, key government officials, the LHIN, and other laboratories and health organizations.

As the ideal candidate, you possess a relevant degree in health or business administration and bring an extensive track record as a trusted healthcare leader in large, complex multi-stakeholder environments.  You are an authentic change agent that has demonstrated success in building effective, innovative strategies that align with the future direction of healthcare. As a natural communicator, you influence and inspire your team while fostering trust and synergy. You are an analytical systems-thinker that understands how to operate in a highly regulated environment with a diverse stakeholder group. You bring a high level of business acumen and expertise in maneuvering various funding mechanisms. Fluency in both official languages is an asset.
