Clinical Nurse Specialist – Medication Safety
This temporary, full-time position – based at our St. Catharines Site – would be a great leadership opportunity for a Registered Nurse who is a visionary thinker, a best practices champion and a skilled decision-maker, adept at leading change and achieving results.
Driven by a commitment to enhance patient experience, patient safety and professional practice through the delivery of evidence-based care, you will provide leadership and direction to foster, facilitate and achieve the highest standards of professional excellence for nursing and other clinical practice disciplines in relation to medication safety practices. As a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) at Niagara Health, you will provide expert advice, clinical practice, and consultation in the areas of nursing, resource planning, system improvement, research, and professional development to support quality and safety initiatives.
We will rely on you to anticipate future changes (e.g., needs related to technology, systems, professional development) as well as recommend and implement appropriate action plans, continuously evaluating nursing practice and contributing to the ongoing development of practice knowledge by evaluating research and developing frameworks and strategies to facilitate the implementation of best practices. As part of the Professional Practice portfolio, you will report to the Clinical Leader, Professional Practice and work collaboratively with the Nurse Educators, Clinical Leadership, patient-facing nurses, pharmacists, and other interprofessional team members to develop and promote a best practice environment for medication safety.
While you’ll be based out of our St. Catharines Site, you’ll have multi-site accountabilities and impact.
