Division Head, Children’s Health
Women’s and Children’s Health Program
Trillium Health Partners (THP) is a leading hospital with an outstanding record of performance, fiscal responsibility and quality patient care. THP operates on three main sites – Credit Valley Hospital, Mississauga Hospital, and Queensway Health Centre – offering a full range of acute care as well as a variety of specialized, community-based programs. THP’s mission is to create a new kind of health care for a healthier community. Guided by its values of compassion, excellence, and courage, THP’s strategic plan envisions a new approach to health – working in partnership to create an inter-connected system that is organized around the patient, both inside the Hospital and beyond its walls, by balancing quality, access and sustainability.
THP’s promise to the community to create a new kind of health care includes building a system of care for children and neonates. As the regional centre for Women’s and Children’s Health, THP works collaboratively with the community, and primary, secondary and tertiary care providers to ensure care at the right place, at the right time.
Trillium Health Partners’ Children’s Health Program is one of the largest in the country. It includes two neonatal ICUs (Level 2B and Level 2C), Paediatric services (inpatient medical and surgical services, a suite of Paediatric sub-specialty clinics, infant and child development and behavioural services, community-based services) and more. Along with inpatient and outpatient medical and surgical services, more than 40,000 children access care through THP’s Emergency Department and Urgent Care Center each year. The Division of Children’s Health also supports medical students’ academic needs with over 700 unique medical learners participating in the Paediatric educational rotations over the past five years.
Reporting to the Program Chief & Medical Director, Women’s and Children’s Health, the Division Head will be a regional leader who will champion and lead local and regional children’s health initiatives and provide strategic and operational direction to internal and external partners. Working with a multi-disciplinary team, and leading the Children’s Health division, which includes approximately 30 Paediatricians, the new Division Head will support an ongoing commitment to clinical excellence and patient centered care by actively promoting and continuing to advance best practices and high quality services in order to deliver improved quality, access and sustainability. The new Division Head will be results-oriented and provide leadership by example with strong change management skills.
