An exciting opportunity exists in Elk Point, Alberta for a Registered Nurse passionate about all areas of nursing and providing leading care to Albertans.
Elk Point is located approximately 235 km northeast of Edmonton and 37 km east of St. Paul and is home to over 1,400 people. Elk Point is along the southern leg of the Iron Horse Trail - 300 km of former railroad that has been adapted for hiking, biking, horseback riding, quadding, or snowmobiling. If trails aren't for you, we also offer both indoor and outdoor ice rinks, a curling rink, a riding barn and fair grounds, tennis courts, a golf course, ball diamonds and soccer fields. For those who enjoy the water, camping, fishing and other lake activities are in abundance as there are many beautiful lakes surrounding our town.
You will have the opportunity to make a difference in many different ways. In this dynamic role, you will be working Acute Care, Emergency and Long Term Care at the Elk Point Health Centre in a Charge Nurse role. While working within an interdisciplinary team of compassionate and dedicated healthcare professionals, you will utilize the nursing processes and your critical thinking and problem solving skills to provide care to clients across the life span. You will ensure the development, implementation and ongoing administration of the client care plans created with patient- and family-centered care in mind.

You will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
