Job Description


The Manager of Finance is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating and supervising all financial activities of the organization under the direction of the VP Corporate Services & Chief Financial Officer. The Manager is a key part of the leadership team and provides a link between financial services and the Operations Committee.  She/He is responsible for developing and leading a team that responds to hospital, LHIN and MOHLTC reporting and legal requirements.

The Manager prepares, monitors, and reports on the operating budget. She/He participates in service and hospital-wide activities and programs that model and promote a safe and healthy patient-centered environment and that contribute to quality improvement and risk management initiatives.


  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CA preferred, CGA, CMA)
  • Related Undergraduate degree or equivalent
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CA preferred, CGA, CMA)
  • Master’s in Business Administration is an asset
  • Minimum 5-10 years of accounting experience
  • Experience in Finance management in a hospital setting is an asset
  • Strong Project Management and Time Management skills 


  • Knowledge of financial and procurement software programs
  • Excellent negotiation and facilitation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office suite programs and relational databases
  • Ability to work accurately under stressful conditions and meet deadlines
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team
  • Ability to coach, mentor and motivate team
  • Good attendance and availability
  • Expert level knowledge of MIS Guidelines
