Job Description

DEPARTMENT: OUTPATIENT MENTAL HEALTH CLINIC/ACUTE INPATIENT PSYCHIATRIC UNIT

POSITION: ONE (1) TEMPORARY FULL TIME PSYCHOLOGIST

SITE: NORTH BAY REGIONAL HEALTH CENTRE – KING ST. CAMPUS

HOURS: 7.50 HOUR SHIFTS ~ MONDAY TO FRIDAY

Pay rate, benefits and other terms and conditions are as per the OPSEU 662 Collective Agreement

Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology required
  • Current registration as a psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario with no restrictions required
  • Demonstrated knowledge in assessing, formulating and applying effective treatment modalities, and scoring psychometric tests
  • Previous clinical experience working in community mental health and acute psychiatry
  • Proven leadership experience developing, facilitating and evaluating the group psychotherapy model
  • Experience in providing individual psychotherapy
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in implementing recovery informed approaches including Motivational Interviewing, CBT and DBT
  • Demonstrated experience providing clinical leadership within clinical teams
  • Exemplifies our organization’s C.A.R.E. values
  • Knowledge of our Patient and Family Partnered Care Practices
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all members of the health team
  • Excellent written, oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Participation in ongoing clinical education for professional growth
  • Good attendance and work record required
  • Must demonstrate commitment to ensure personal safety, the safety of fellow workers, patients, volunteers and visitors by contributing to a culture of health and safety.
  • Bilingualism (Advanced level English/French) is required (see note*) All unilingual candidates are encouraged to apply and may be considered if there are no successful bilingual candidates

*NOTE: A formal French test will be conducted to evaluate the proficiency level.
