We have an exciting relief part time career opportunity based out of the brand new Community Health and Services Centre in downtown Kelowna, this position supports home health, acute care and some residential care within the community.

As the Clinical Practice Consultant you will champion, guide and lead the delivery of a comprehensive Wound, Ostomy and Continence program for clients. The ideal applicant will be passionate about creating change and will be responsible for promoting the delivery of quality client care by providing clinical consultation and expertise, education and direction based on a specialized body of knowledge to interdisciplinary team members. 

This role will collaborate with other Nurses Specialized in Wound, Ostomy and Continence (NSWOC); research and evaluate current wound, ostomy & continence standards and facilitate the development and implementation of program policies and procedures, education programs for staff and quality improvement initiatives, incorporating evidence based ‘best practices’. 

This is a relief part-time (0.5fte) position until approximately MARCH 2019 or the return of current incumbent. Days of work are rotating and shift times are from 08:30-16:30.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an approved school of Nursing with a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing.
  • Current practicing registration with the College of Registered Nurses’ of BC (CRNBC). 
  • Successful completion of the Wound, Ostomy & Continence Institute’s Wound, Ostomy & Continence Education Program, three years recent, relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. 
  • Valid motor vehicle license.
