Job Description

Reporting to the Vice President of Finance and Support Services for day to day operations and directly to the President and CEO for HIS renewal, the Manager of Information Management/Health Records is accountable for determining long-term, corporate-wide information needs and develops strategies for systems development, hardware acquisition, network, integration and system applications.  Accountable for the overall patient focused daily operations of hospital clinical and business information systems, information technology, Health Records, telecommunications and customer support services through the effective use of best practices.

  4. Maintenance & Management of Equipment and Materials

  6. Patient Database Management 

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

MANDATORY

  • University degree in relevant discipline, preferably with advanced study in business, health informatics, public/health administration.
  • Certified Health Information Management (CHIM) designation, preferred.
  • Recognized Management Courses.

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience in healthcare obtained through the implementation of clinical systems or the management of information management/information technology staff in a healthcare setting.
  • Minimum of 5 years of healthcare related IM experience.
  • 7-10 years of previous Information Management experience showing progressive management responsibilities.
  • Ability to work independently on IM issues in order to provide appropriate input as part of the PSFDH Senior Management team; decision-making, negotiating, financial, budgeting and communication skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of project management
  • Demonstrated evidence of strong change leadership, organizational and   prioritization skills and the ability to work well under stress
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated decision-making relative to Privacy Legislation and release of patient health information.
  • Experience working with Collective Agreements.
