Chief Capital Projects Officer

Niagara Health (NH) was created in March 2000 as Ontario’s largest multi-site hospital amalgamation, now comprised of five sites serving 434,000 residents across the 12 municipalities making up the Regional Municipality of Niagara. NH provides a wide range of inpatient and outpatient clinics/services, including Acute Care, Surgical Care, Emergency and Urgent Care, Kidney Care, Complex Care, Mental Health and Addictions, Long Term Care and Cancer Care. NH has 5,000 employees, 650 physicians and 850 volunteers. NH is excited to be planning for a new state-of-the-art hospital in Niagara Falls and redevelopment of its Welland site.  

In order to ensure that the people of Niagara have access to the highest quality of health care, the organization is building a new state-of-the-art hospital in Niagara Falls, which will serve over 434,000 people in the region.   Under the direction of the EVP Finance, Operations & Chief Financial Officer, the new Chief Capital Projects (the Chief) lead the planning and execution of the new hospital, as well as major capital redevelopment projects at other sites within NHS.

To be successful, the new Chief must have relevant healthcare project experience having worked within the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care Capital Planning Process and Infrastructure Ontario’s AFP (Alternative Finance and Procurement), Design-Build-Finance-Maintain model. In addition, the candidate will possess a University degree, preferable in Architecture, Planning, Engineering or Project Management; a PMP designation and a minimum 10 years’ related experience, with Infrastructure Ontario AFP experience a must. Finally, the successful candidate will have experience overseeing all stages of the MOHLTC capital planning process, ability to manage complex and concurrent project activities and show excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
